DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Fort Griswold will be commemorating the Battle of Groton Heights on Sunday\, September 7\, 2025\, at 6 pm\, inside Fort Griswold. It is here that our brave men fought and died on September 6\, 1781. Please join us inside the Fort to mourn the dead\, and celebrate their legacy. \nPrior to the ceremony at Fort Griswold\, CT Line will be marking the graves of 5 Patriots at the Starr Burial Ground in Groton. – This will be a 250th event. \nAfter the grave marking ceremony\, attendees will make their way to Fort Griswold (Monument St. & Park Ave. Groton CT) for the 6:oo pm commemoration ceremony. SUMMARY:Battle of Rhode Island Commemoration & Sunset Salute
DESCRIPTION:The Battle of Rhode Island Association has invited the NHSAR to participate in the Wreath Laying Ceremony and Sunset Salute commemorating the 247th Anniversary of the Battle of Rhode Island.  New Hampshire played a significant role in this engagement. \nGeneral John Sullivan played a key role as the American commander in the Battle of Rhode Island\, a significant engagement of the American Revolution\, fought on August 29\, 1778 on Aquidneck Island\, RI. It was one of the first combined American-French military operations of the war\, though it ultimately ended in a military draw with both sides suffering casualties. DESCRIPTION:Provided for Informational Purposes Only \nThe museum’s largest event of the year\, a two-day celebration of all things agricultural\, historical\, and farm-related. This event features special exhibits and demonstrations throughout the farm’s fields and in its historic buildings. Children will be well entertained – ice cream making\, stilt walking\, hay rides\, kiddie tractor pull\, animals on display. DESCRIPTION:Ride the Float or March\n8:00 AM – 9:30 AM – Parade Line-up Behind the Fire Station (3rd Main St) \n10:00 AM – Parade Step-off  – Parade route is East on Depot St to NH Rt. 3 and then East on Rt 3 to Industrial Drive (near ball field).  Total distance is 0.6 miles. \nFollowing the Parade – There is no flag raising ceremony at the ball park.  Immediately following the parade is a community kickball game.  We are invited to fire a Musket Salute at the Flag Pole. Students will also enjoy interactive demonstrations of colonial-era clothing and equipment. \nWe need NHSAR members in both modern civilian and colonial attire to assist with the event\, lead demonstrations\, and engage directly with students.
