Welcome to the recently updated NH SAR website! We hope you find it informative and engaging. Let us know if you have something of interest to add. Huzzah compatriots!
The new site includes content and photos from the prior site as well as many new pages with information related to NH SAR. The new site is based on WordPress, the most popular content management platform on the web today and this brings many new capabilities to the site including:
- Online payments for annual NH SAR and National SAR dues.
- Search capability that allows you to quickly find something. This becomes more important as we grow our content. See the image below showing the standard page header with search highlighted:

- The capability to subscribe to the site/blog for automatic email notifications of new posts and content. Many pages contain a block to allow entry of your email like the image below.

Simply input your email and click the arrow button to the right of the email input and you will receive an email with a link to confirm your subscription similar to the one shown below (note that the username and email have been blurred and that the email comes from WordPress.com rather than explicitly from NH SAR).
Important note – we will be uploading emails for the members soon so you do not have to subscribe directly and when they are loaded you will see a confirmation email as shown above. It’s okay if you do subscribe before we load them as we will eliminate duplicates for any emails already in the subscriber list. Being subscribed will allow us to save some work currently done by email blast to keep the membership informed although we will still use the email approach in some cases. - Responsive design that looks great on all browsing platforms including: smart phones, tablets, as well as desktop browsers.
- Content management features that supports easier contribution by members that want to get involved with a full publishing workflow for review before new information is published.
- An events calendar page that includes:
- multiple views (i.e., by month or in a list)
- the ability to search just within events
- the ability to subscribe to the calendar (separate from subscribing to the blog) that will allow you to create a new calendar on your primary calendar (Outlook, Google, iCal, etc…) by copying a URL for the subscription.
- Enhanced photo galleries of events.
- Main blog listing page that will include archives for older posts.
- Updating to get notifications to process again after loading subscribers (remove later)
