Honoring new enlistees and the spouses who stand beside them
On February 21, 2026 Compatriots Greg Salts and Robert Sigmon formally enlisted in Stark’s Company, NHSAR Color Guard. CG Commander Curtis Hermann conducted the enlistment ceremony during the NHSAR George Washington Birthday meeting held in Manchester, NH.

The Enlistment Ceremony was created to formally recognize the mutual commitment of time and resources shared between a Compatriot and the New Hampshire Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NHSAR) when a member chooses to join the ranks of our Color Guard.
Because spouses play a vital and supportive role in this commitment, they take part in the ceremony by holding Baron von Steuben’s Drill Manual—a symbol of the training and discipline expected of every Guardsman. During the ceremony, each enlistee places their hand on the manual while reciting their oath, underscoring their dedication to the traditions and standards of the Color Guard. Each new Guardsman is then presented with an Enlistment Certificate and the SAR, two-flag lapel pin, to represent the colors they have sworn to protect.
During the enlistment, their spouses, Febie Salts and Kayla Sigmon proudly participated in this tradition, symbolizing the partnership and shared dedication behind every Color Guard member’s service.

Congratulations and welcome to The Guard.
