Induction Ceremony

Welcome New Compatriots: Timothy J. Billbrough & William B. Jennison Jr.

We are proud to announce the induction of Timothy J. Billbrough, descendant of Patriot Jonathan Palmer (1754–1833), and William B. Jennison Jr., descendant of Patriot Jonathan Emerson (1744–1785), into the New Hampshire Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NHSAR).

Their induction took place on September 13, 2025, during a Grave Marking Ceremony honoring six Patriots who took part in the Raid on Fort William & Mary. The solemn occasion was made even more meaningful as Tim and Bill were inducted at the gravesite of William Whipple, a distinguished signer of the Declaration of Independence.

The Declaration of Independence stands as the original act of commitment to liberty and self-determination. The SAR Oath of Membership serves as a modern reaffirmation of that pledge, linking today’s Compatriots to the enduring spirit of July 4, 1776. Each time the oath is spoken, members renew the Founders’ vision in their own time and place. In that spirit, Bill and Tim concluded their induction by laying a wreath at the grave of Patriot William Whipple, honoring both his sacrifice and the ideals he helped secure.

The induction ceremony was led by NHSAR President Richard Baynes, with Compatriot Doug Wood bearing the ceremonial musket—a powerful symbol of the courage and sacrifice of our Patriot ancestors. Sponsors played a special role in the event: Compatriot Hans Jackson guided Tim’s membership journey, while Compatriot Brush Bradley supported Bill. Both had the honor of presenting the inductees with the SAR Rosette, a timeless emblem of Patriot heritage.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Compatriots Billbrough & Jennison to NHSAR as we celebrate their patriotic lineage and our shared commitment to preserving the legacy of our nation’s founders!

Raising the right hand at the resting place of William Whipple, a signer of the Declaration independence, epic.
