On October 25, 2025, NHSAR Compatriots Hans Jackson, Richard Baynes, Doug Wood, Russell Cumbee, Curtis Hermann, Andy Akers and Elwin Spray attended the New England District SAR Fall meeting in Rhode Island. Joining them were Lois Hermann (DAR), Ivy Spray, Linda Wood (DAR) and Lydia Cumbee.

















During the meeting Guardsman Russell Cumbee was presented the Von Stueben Color Guard Medal for extended service to the Color Guard. For additional details regarding Guardsman Cumbee’s award click here.


Following the business session, Reese Holmes, National President of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.), delivered an engaging presentation on the 2025–2026 National Project, “Revolutionary Valor.” This year’s project will support the Dr. Joseph Warren Foundation (DJWF)—an organization dedicated to preserving Revolutionary War history and legacy. The afternoon concluded with a guided tour of the Nathaniel Greene Homestead, offering members a closer look at the life and legacy of one of America’s great Revolutionary War generals.
