New Hampshire Sons of the American Revolution held their annual George Washington Birthday Meeting on February 21, 2026 at Camp Carpenter in Manchester, New Hampshire. The meeting opened with an Induction Ceremony welcoming Earl Sholley, Bob Born, Paul Richardson, Caleb Ellsworth, Craig Donais, Stephen Warfield and Greg Salts into the New Hampshire SAR.

Following the inductions, First Vice President Curtis Hermann presented a slideshow reviewing highlights from 2025, after which a series of awards and recognitions were presented to honor outstanding service and dedication.

The Abigail Adams DAR Finder Award to Trish Jackson, Kristy Elsworth and Tammy Rafferty in recognition of their exceptional support of the SAR through the successful referral of new members.

The Henry Knox Achievement – Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster was proudly presented to Compatriot Richard Baynes for his continued service as a member of Stark’s Company, NHSAR Color Guard.

An enlistment ceremony was conducted by Color Guard Commander Curtis Hermann, formally welcoming Compatriots Greg Salts and Robert Sigmon into Stark’s Company, NHSAR Color Guard. This ceremony recognizes the significant commitment of time, resources, and service undertaken by compatriots who choose to join the ranks of the Color Guard.

In recognition of long-term dedication and sustained participation, Guardsman Hans Jackson was awarded the Varon von Steuben Color Guard Medal for his sustained achievement and participation in the NHSAR Color guard over the past 25 years. This award reflects Hans’ long-term dedication, leadership, and continued commitment to honoring the legacy of American Revolutionary patriots.

The meeting also recognized several compatriots whose service has made Patriot Grave Marking ceremonies possible throughout the state. In appreciation of their continued service in honoring our patriot ancestors, the Patriot Grave Marking Medal was presented to Compatriots: Richard Baynes, Albert Lamson, John Ginsberg, Brush Bradley, Daniel Headley, Thomas Gray and Phil Jamieson.

The meeting concluded with an engaging and informative presentation titled “Lesser‑Known Events, Personalities, and Adventures in Early Revolutionary New Hampshire,” delivered by New Hampshire Colonial Historian, Thomas Kehr. His talk offered fresh insights into New Hampshire’s Revolutionary history and provided an enlightening close to a memorable George Washington Birthday Meeting.
